What does it take to become an Internet Millionaire?

I’ve decided to enter a contest to become The Next Internet Millionaire. Basically, it’s an online reality show where contestants complete for $25,000 and the opportunity to do a joint venture with internet marketing legend Joel Comm.

Check out my video audition. Hopefully I’m not too different from what you’ve imagined. While you’re there please vote for me too.

Obviously the potential for this to be ridiculous is enormous, but I decided to go for it anyway for a few reasons.
  1. $25,000 is a very large amount of money to me. That money will help me reach my goals much faster. Also, the show is being filmed in Colorado and contestants receive a paid trip. I’ve always wanted to see the Rockies.
  2. This is a great opportunity to learn entrepreneurship from the experts. I was skeptical at first, but when I checked out the teachers I realized Rich Shefren is one of them. I have a great deal respect for Rich (I referenced his work in this post) and the opportunity to learn from him would easily make this contest worthwhile. Anyone interested in starting an online business should checkout Rich’s Internet Business Manifesto(pdf) and Gaining Momentum Video. I learned a lot from both. If the other teachers are of the same caliber this could be the educational opportunity of a lifetime.
  3. An internet reality show has never been done before, and although reality TV has beaten the concept into the ground, this show is the start of a new era where the internet challenges mainstream media for control. This show is going to make waves, and will be a great way to get some exposure for the site and develop my online persona.
Regardless of how it works out, this will be an interesting experience. Voting counts for 50% in the first round and I need some help, so please go vote for me if you haven’t already. If this is something you’re interested in, it’s not too late to submit your own audition.
